While nothing prevents you from using the type of gas you want, you need to be prepared for the consequences if you do. Standard fuel affects the operation of your entire engine system and significantly reduces the performance of your BMW. In fact, high-performance gasoline doesn`t cost as much as you think. It is estimated that using high-performance fuel costs BMW drivers an additional $150 per year, or less than $3 per week. That`s much less than the price you`ll pay for damage to your BMW`s engine if you don`t use the recommended fuel. We do not recommend using low-quality fuel in BMWs. While some models may present this as a viable option when reading the instruction manual, Triangle Imports does not believe in this philosophy. The potential negative effects on your car of using regular fuel are simply not worth it.

We believe it is better to use high-quality gas. Let`s get to the details. A little lesson on an engine cycle: An air-fuel mixture is pushed into the combustion chamber, the spark plug ignites it and the ensuing explosion emits energy. If an engine with a higher compression ratio, such as the one installed in the models of our new BMW fleet, consumes less stable fuel, it can burn prematurely – a phenomenon called „knocking“ or „pinging“ due to the rattling noise. That`s not to say that your BMW won`t run on low-quality fuel, but top-quality unleaded fuel will maintain its quality in the long run and allow you to consistently drive to optimal performance. You may not know that 91+ octane fuel is packed with great supplements that will greatly benefit your engine. This fuel has a detergent specifically designed to prevent carbon buildup in your engine. The detergent even helps remove existing carbon, which it also finds in your engine system. This may mean that your engine is running at peak power for an extended period of time.

This can help you avoid the need for repairs that a dirty engine can cause. Since BMW does not recommend the E-85 fuel type, certain precautions must be taken before use if the driver wants to opt for it. These are: A lower quality fuel is not able to provide the same level of care, which means that the integral components of your engine are at risk of heat damage. Cheap gasoline is also likely to be free of conditioners and useful additives that help keep the engine running smoothly. Sometimes manufacturers make it very clear whether their vehicles are E-85 compatible or not.

An E-85 badge or mark on the fuel cap is what you need to look for if you want to determine your vehicle`s E-85 compatibility. Fueling your BMW or other car with premium gasoline can hurt your wallet. Depending on your BMW model, you can technically save money by using regular fuel, but it will come at a cost. We believe it`s not worth taking advantage of these savings now to risk damaging your vehicle. When a car buyer decides which car to buy, a fairly large focus is placed on the fuel economy of the car. Sometimes this becomes the deciding factor for car buyers when deciding which car to buy. We`ll see how the BMW X5 aligns with fuel economy expectations as an SUV. BMW recommends the AKI 89 or RON 94-95 as the best fuel quality for the BMW X5 whose code name is G05.
